Nobody Does It Better

So you want to throw a cocktail party.  You can go the obvious route with a martini theme and James Bond music.  Of course I would mix it up a little.  You don't want to overpower your guests with the background music because cocktail parties are about conversation and candlelight, not pogo-ing around your living room and shots of tequila.  So I'll give you the Bond theme songs, but you also have to throw in some Ella Fitzgerald, Melanie Fiona, some David Holmes (a la Ocean's 11, 12 and 13), maybe some Harry Connick Jr. and Paula Cole, but not forgetting the immortalized version of "Puttin' on the Ritz" by Taco.  Cheers!
